The American guideline ANSI defines the essential requirements for devices for eye and face protection in order to minimize or prevent accidents such as shocks etc..
STANAG 2920 (example, see last product image):
STANAG is the abbreviation for Standardization Agreement, in the original "Standardization Agreement". The Convention deals with the examination of the ballistic threat posed by fragmentation projectiles. In a special test procedure called V-50, one half of the shots must penetrate the target material and the other half of the shots must not penetrate the target material. An even number of shots, at least six, is used to calculate the V-50 value. The measured value is the arithmetic mean of the group of measured velocities.
