The boot is characterized by good wearing properties, even with sensitive feet! The Clima lining serves to quickly remove moisture. The lateral ventilation holes support this additionally.
The raised flap wing prevents sand or small reptiles, for example, from penetrating into the boot, and a soft flap closure ensures comfortable wearing and high comfort.
A bending zone above the heel ensures optimum mobility of the shaft. In addition, this boot is equipped with lateral clamping hooks, for the 2-zone lacing (forefoot and shaft area can be laced separately from each other tighter/ looser).
The mounted (adhesive-twisted) Meindl Multigrip® MTH® shell sole is resistant to oil and petrol and very flexible. The outsole consists of high-quality rubber and a high-quality PU wedge. This ensures a high grip and secure hold, good cushioning and keeps the foot fatigue-free. The shell construction of the sole also ensures a secure footing. The stable nylon insole integrated in the boot results in a compact substructure and thus offers good torsional stability. The boot is therefore also suitable for rough terrain.

Gute, stabile Stiefel. We...
Gute, stabile Stiefel. Wenn sie eingelaufen sind - und sich damit am Fuß angepasst haben, dann läuft man recht leicht, vor allem aber angenehm in und mit ihnen. Sohle hat für meine Zwecke ordentlichen Grip, auf Steinen u Felsen ebenso wie in Schotterpassagen mitsamt Split etc. Auch die Schnürung ist ordentlich und hält perfekt. (Obgleich der Tiefzughaken gerne etwas weiter hinten u. unten sitzen dürfte.) Alles in allem ein mehr als ordentlicher Stiefel.

Bequemer Schuh, der nahez...
Bequemer Schuh, der nahezu wie angegossen sitzt. Nach minimalstem Einlaufen haben sich zwei, drei Druckstellen durch/vom Leder insoweit verändert und angepasst, dass sich der Schuh bequem tragen lässt. Ich finde ihn auch noch nach längerem Tragen angenehm und bequem (z. B. Bei längeren Touren mit Gepäck > 20 kg). Für mich einzige Kritikpunkte sind die fehlenden Haken an der Zunge und - insbesondere wegen der Schafthöhe - die fehlenden Anziehhilfen/-Schlaufen oberhalb der Fersen. Ansonsten toller Schuh bzw. Stiefel.

2009 habe ich mir den Sti...
2009 habe ich mir den Stiefel " Safari " von Meindl gekauft, der beste Schuh, den ich bisher gekauft hatte. Im Geschäft angezogen und quasi drei Wochen lang auf der Safari in Namibia nicht ausgezogen, jetzt war leider die Sohle durchgelaufen, werde sie aber einschicken, vielleicht kann man sie neu besohlen. Mit diesem Modell " Desert Fox " ( wohl das Nachfolgemodell ) genau das selbe. Ich habe sie nicht einmal " einlaufen " müssen.

Great boots , form and construction is good , pity that Meindl seem to have stopped making them. Re: Bader, service excellent, efficient. Would order from them again without qualm.

Toller Wüstenschuh
Schuh passt super Gr. 36, gut verabeitet. Toll auch, dass von Bader Outdoor noch Einlegesohlen dabeigelegt wurden. Angenehmes Tragegefühl, Stiefel ist schön leicht, man schwitzt nicht darin.

When in doubt, the stiffer boot is certainly the better choice, as it offers more possibilities.
If you frequently travel in wet regions or have no opportunity to dry a wet boot overnight during
your tours, you should choose a model with GORE-TEX® lining.

How do I find my correct size...?
Unless otherwise stated, our shoes are listed in English (UK) sizes. Converting sizes can often
cause confusion, so we would like to help you find the right size with our size chart. If in
doubt, we are happy to advise you.
Please also do not fixate too strongly on a particular size. Especially when changing models or
manufacturers, deviations can quickly occur. Your feet also change over time, becoming wider and
longer as the arch reduces.

How to measure correctly (see image below):
When measuring, it is recommended to already wear the socks you intend to use inside the shoe or
boot. Stand on a sheet of paper, ideally in the afternoon or evening (when your foot is at its
largest), and mark the tip of your toes (1) and the heel (2)
with a pencil held vertically. Then measure the length of your foot. To this measurement
(3), add 1 cm to 1.5 cm (finger test). This space should be
present at the front of a mountain or trekking boot as a minimum; for lighter shoes such as
Nordic walking shoes, 1 cm to 1.2 cm may also be sufficient.
For safety shoes, a minimum of 1.2 cm to 1.5 cm is recommended.
Then compare this value with our table. The size shown for
your measurement (foot length plus allowance of 1 cm to 1.5 cm) is the
recommended size for your shoe choice. In borderline cases, or if you occasionally wear thicker
socks, always choose half a size larger. Shoes are often bought too small. In terms of width, a
shoe can be stretched slightly or will adapt during the break-in period. However, it cannot be
lengthened.
Here is an example of size selection for a trekking boot:
Your foot length + space at the front (at least 1 cm) = 28.7 cm =
UK 9.5 (recommended size)
Note for children's shoes:
For children's shoes, add approximately 1.2 cm to 1.5 cm to the foot measurement to determine the correct size in the table above. For the children's boot model Meindl POLAR FOX Junior, no addition is necessary, as this model runs slightly larger than standard Meindl children's shoes at the same size, leaving room for thicker socks.
Note for winter boots:
In winter boots especially, it is important to have sufficient room and toe clearance. Boots that
are too tight will cause cold feet quickly.
For winter boots with sheepskin lining such as Meindl GARMISCH PRO GTX®, GARMISCH LADY
PRO GTX®, Meindl CORVARA and Meindl CORVARA LADY, add approximately 1.5 cm to your foot
measurement to determine the correct size in the table above, or select your
size according to the examples below.
Examples:
UK size 8 in the table above corresponds to size 42 for the models
Meindl GARMISCH PRO GTX® / GARMISCH LADY PRO GTX®, and likewise to UK size 8
for the model Meindl CORVARA / Meindl CORVARA LADY. This means you may only
need to go slightly larger with these two models to have a little more room for thicker socks.
For the winter trekking boot Meindl ANTARKTIS GTX® with Thinsulate® lining,
going half a size larger than your normal trekking boot size is usually sufficient to allow a
little more toe room for thicker socks.
For the models Meindl NORDKAP PRO GTX® and Meindl KITZBÜHEL, first determine
your size as you would for trekking boots (see "How to measure correctly" above). Then choose
exactly one full size larger to compensate for the construction-related difference and to allow
room for thicker socks.
For example: If you wear UK 9.5 in a Meindl trekking boot, choose UK 10.5 for
the Meindl NORDKAP PRO GTX® and Meindl KITZBÜHEL.
Note for sock size selection:
To determine your sock size, follow the same procedure but without adding any allowance, and
compare your foot length directly with the table above.
